Thanks to your generous support for the Mental Health Matters Fund, nearly 70 families in need received a basket of Thanksgiving foods and a grocery store gift card for the holiday. This annual program was made possible this year by gifts to the Mental Health Matters Fund, which filled a $5,000 gap in the program’s donations. Basket’s included vegetables, fruit, breads, broth, gravy, stuffing, cake mix and pie, along with a gift card for a local grocery store to help round out Thanksgiving dinner.

The district used its COVID-19 needs assessment to connect with families who could use a little help this year, and your gifts helped make sure the program could be fully funded. “We are grateful that the initiative could be funded (in part) by the SCASD Education Foundation’s Mental Health Matters Fund which has been expanded to include COVID relief efforts implemented by the District. This important fund exists thanks to contributions from our generous community,” said Jeanne Knouse, Director of Student Services.
