Do you know a significant SCASD alumnus who deserves recognition for their accomplishments after graduation? What about a team or group who contributed to the community during their time within the district? Or maybe a retired coach or teacher who made a strong impact on your or your children’s lives?

The State College Area School District Education Foundation is launching a new effort to recognize our most outstanding alumni, faculty and key contributors. Induction into the Maroon & Gray Society will be a permanent mark of distinction for those who made extraordinary impacts on the school district community, and we need your help to select our inaugural class of inductees.

Through June 30, the Foundation will be accepting nominations from the public for the 2018 inductees. You can find complete information here, but each year's class will recognize alumni for achievements in areas like business, the arts, academics and athletics, along with standout school groups and retired faculty. Think about the people in your life whose lifetime of contributions or accomplishments make them Maroon & Gray Society material, and take a few moments to tell us about them!

The Foundation is also seeking committee members to assist in choosing the final honorees out of those nominated. If you think you would be a good fit for this role, contact Paul Olivett, at pgo11@scasd.org.

Meanwhile, stay tuned for more information on this exciting Society, including the upcoming unveiling of the Society’s logo, designed by our very own State High students. Final honorees will be announced at the State High Homecoming Game this fall, and the inaugural class of honorees will be inducted into the Maroon & Gray Society at a special celebration, May 19, 2018.

This recognition is in addition to and separate from the Distinguished Alumni award facilitated by the State College Area High School Alumni Association.
